The Laba Rice Porridge Festival, celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, has its roots in ancient Chinese culture. The festival originated from the "Laba Festival", a sacrificial ceremony in ancient China that was closely associated with hunting.
During the Shang Dynasty, people held four major sacrificial ceremonies every year to worship their ancestors and the gods of heaven and earth. The winter ceremony was the largest and most important, and it eventually became known as the "Laba Festival". The day on which the winter ceremony was held became known as "Laba Day".
In the Qin Dynasty, the Laba Festival was officially introduced to the western region of China. Since then, the festival has become an important part of Chinese culture, and people celebrate it by eating Laba rice porridge and performing various traditional activities.
At Midea Biomedical, we are proud to be part of this rich cultural heritage. As we celebrate the Laba Rice Porridge Festival, we wish you a joyful and prosperous new year.
